Picnic weather is on the way…
Sunny skies! Hip-hip, HOORAY!
Goodbye, gloomy weather,
Hello, longer days,
Time to go outside
And enjoy the suns rays!
Let’s dig out the hamper
Now it’s not just always dark
And pack our favourite foods
For a trip to the park!
Baguettes and cheeses,
And juicy fresh fruits -
And don’t forget the blanket to boot!
Let’s go for a walk
Till we find the right spot
To spend the day relaxing,
And not do a whole lot
Except enjoy the moments,
And all the food that we brought!
Under the shade of glorious tree,
Listening to the ducks quack,
And the buzz of the bees.
“Oh, beautiful sunshine,
We’ve missed you a bunch –
Thank you for keeping us warm
Whilst we’re enjoying our lunch.”.
The quacks just got louder!
My, what could it be?
“Why Mr. Mallard,
are you joining us for tea?”
He waddles away angrily,
Wiggling his little feathered bum;
I’m sure he’ll be back later
To look for some crumbs.
As the air starts to cool,
And the sun starts to set,
It’s time to tidy up
but it’s not quite over yet:
“Woof woof!” What’s this now?
We see a sausage dog scamper:
That cheeky little doggie!
He was rummaging through our hamper!
“I’m sorry” we hear the dog owner shout
“No sandwiches are safe,
when Teddy:
The Great Sandwich Thief, is about!
“What a lovely day it’s been!”
We say as we leave the park:
“Awooooo!” Shouts Teddy,
“Don’t mind him…”
Waves his owner
“…That’s his farewell bark!”.
As we get in the car,
And start to head home to bed.
We hear a happy “Quack quack!”
It sounds like Mr. Mallard found
some crumbs from our bread…
